Job opportunities and home affordability are the primary drivers behind the decision of millennials to move to certain areas, and to remain for an extended period or relocate shortly after their arrival. The National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) 2019 report, “Most Popular Areas for Millennials: where they move and stay,” compiles a list of the most popular cities in the country based on the number of millennials moving there and how many of them make up the total population. NAR analyzed the 100 largest U.S. metro areas and analyzed them for employment gains, population trends, income levels and housing conditions.
Madison made the top 10 list! Around 75 percent of all people moving to Madison, Wisconsin, are millennials, and this segment of the population has mostly elected to remain in the area. CLICK HERE to view report.
